Focus Area Interdisciplinary Value Research (2015 – 2019)

Background, Motivation, Research Interest

Cultural diagnosis and social relevance are important options for the university and the faculty. Value research serves as a major contribution to this. The research focuses on the design and adaptation of an empirical "value map" of Austria in an international comparison. Based on this, consequences and options for value clarification and value formation processes in society, politics, economy and church are designed. This emphasis also includes theologically justifiable contributions to social value discussion and visionary work.

Aims in the Focus Area in Research, Teaching and Consulting

In the subject area of Pastoral Theology and Kerygmatics, content, places and processes of value creation are currently the focus of research. This involves both the general question of value formation in institutions and more specific objectives, such as the question of guidelines for a pastoral with executives or pastoral work in the issue of reconciling family and work.
